Fortress Ehrenberg
In the Middle Ages, the Ehrenberger Klause was hotly contested, as the most important trade route between north and south ran past it. The massive walls give an idea of how often cannon fire and war cries could be heard outside Ehrenberg Castle.
Many lords and noblemen have seen the walls, but one thing remains unchanged: the impressive landscape around Ehrenberg continues to captivate visitors. Today, Ehrenberg is an indoor and outdoor adventure world with a historical background. The old walls combine the Middle Ages with the 21st century.
The Ehrenberg Museum is a real highlight for young and old. In 14 rooms, 14 different themes from the age of knights and castles are explored. Film, sound and lighting effects capture the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and transport it into the 20th century. This museum is not just a museum as usual - it is a hands-on museum... You can even touch and put on knights' helmets, gloves and swords!
